Gold Show 2020

Dear Vendors, CMA Members and Guests of our Quesnel Gold Show. The Gold Show Committee held a meeting on March 1 and had to make a very tough decision. It is with heavy hearts that our 9th annual Quesnel Gold Show has to be cancelled.

This is the first time that we have had a problem getting enough vendors to fill the spaces required to hold a successful show.

With the downturn in our economy, businesses are having a hard time to stay afloat. They are having to pinch their pennies to stay in business to try and keep staff employed. Some businesses have closed their doors already.

Comments from local businesses are: With these economic times and the downturn in forestry we need to diversify, the Placer Industry is a significant economic driver and they want to see our Industry survive and prosper. We could not agree more the Placer Industry here in the Cariboo has always brought in significant dollars to our local economy.

This cancelation not only impacts the CMA but is also a big financial blow to Alex Fraser Park, and all the other non-profits that we support and give donations to.  It is going to impact our local businesses from motels, restaurants, gas stations and small businesses that profit from over 1000 people coming into Quesnel.

We know this is a significant economic impact to the vendors that have already signed up for the show and we want to thank you for your continued support. For the vendors that have paid for their spaces and the dinner you will be reimbursed your fees by way of a cheque being sent to you.

We want to thank all our Corporate Sponsors and Members for your continued support without you we could not continue to advocate for our industry and our heritage.

The Gold Show will be back in 2021 we are resilient and will get through these harsh economic times together.

Sincerely,

The Quesnel Gold Show Committee
